Creating the Perfect Relaxation Spot at Truist Stadium in Winston Salem, NC
Design TeamIntroduction
Nestled in the vibrant city of Winston Salem, NC, Truist Stadium is a hub of excitement, especially during a Winston Salem Dash game. When tasked with designing a commercial outdoor space within the stadium, our aim was clear: create a relaxing, low-maintenance area for fans to enjoy a cold beer while watching the game. With only an 8 x 50-foot area to work with, maximizing seating and comfort was essential.
Understanding the Client's Vision
A Space for Relaxation and Enjoyment
Our client envisioned a serene, low-maintenance space where fans could unwind, enjoy a beer, and catch the game. The key requirements were straightforward: no cushions, durable materials, and minimal upkeep. They appreciated the simplicity and longevity of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), which aligns perfectly with the need for a maintenance-free environment.
Inspired by the Winston Salem Dash
The client also wanted the design to reflect the spirit of the Winston Salem Dash. This meant incorporating the team colors—black and white—into the furniture, ensuring the area felt cohesive with the rest of the stadium. Additionally, they favored practical features like the drop-down cupholder armrests, enhancing the overall fan experience.
Design Strategy
High-End HDPE Products
For this project, we selected the Berlin Gardens ComfoBack Collection, known for its high-quality HDPE materials. This collection offers durability and comfort without the need for cushions, making it an ideal choice for the stadium's commercial environment. The ComfoBack Triple Glider, featuring a drop-down cupholder armrest, was particularly appealing due to its combination of functionality and comfort.
Embracing Team Colors
To honor the Winston Salem Dash, we matched the furniture to the team's black and white colors. This not only created a visually appealing space but also fostered a sense of team spirit among the fans. The color scheme was carefully chosen to ensure the area felt both welcoming and connected to the broader stadium environment.
Maximizing Limited Space
With an area of just 8 x 50 feet, optimizing every inch was crucial. The ComfoBack Triple Glider's design provided ample seating without compromising on comfort. The inclusion of drop-down cupholders in the armrests was a smart solution, allowing fans to keep their drinks within easy reach without cluttering the seating area.
The Outcome: A Relaxing Haven at Truist Stadium
Functional and Comfortable
The final design successfully merged functionality with comfort. The HDPE materials ensured that the space required minimal upkeep, allowing stadium staff to focus on other tasks. Fans now have a comfortable, durable seating area where they can relax, enjoy a beer, and watch the game without worrying about maintaining the furniture.
Low Maintenance and High Durability
The choice of HDPE for the furniture meant that the seating area could withstand the elements and heavy usage typical of a stadium environment. This low-maintenance solution provided peace of mind to the stadium operators and ensured a consistent, high-quality experience for the fans.
